1. Introduction

Welcome to Woven Bliss, a South African e-commerce business specialising in homeware, including rugs, runners, custom-made pieces and other décor products (“Goods”).

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern:

  • your use of our website and online services (“Website”); and
  • the purchase of Goods from us via the Website.

By accessing the Website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Website or purchase Goods from us.


2. Definitions

In these Terms:

  • Woven Bliss”, “we”, “us”, or “our” means Woven Bliss (and, where applicable, its operating company).
  • you” or “your” means the user of the Website and/or the customer purchasing Goods.
  • Goods” means the homeware products made available for sale on the Website.
  • Website” means the Woven Bliss online platform and any associated pages or services.

3. General Conditions of Use

3.1 Eligibility
By using the Website, you warrant that you are:

  • at least 18 years old; or
  • using the Website with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3.2 Changes to the Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be effective when published on the Website. Your continued use of the Website and/or further purchases after such changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

3.3 Other Policies
These Terms must be read together with:

  • our Privacy Policy;
  • our Delivery & Shipping Policy; and
  • our Returns & Repairs Policy.

In the event of any inconsistency, these Terms will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency, except where the law or a specific consumer right under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“CPA”) dictates otherwise.


4. Ordering and Payment

4.1 Placing an Order

  • By placing an order on the Website, you make an offer to purchase the Goods selected, subject to these Terms.
  • We may accept or reject your order at our discretion. Acceptance occurs when we issue an order confirmation and/or when payment is successfully received.

4.2 Product Descriptions and Images
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, images, dimensions and prices are accurate. However:

  • colours and textures may appear differently on different screens or devices;
  • as many of our Goods are hand-made or custom-made, natural variations in colour, texture or finish may occur.

Such minor variations, within reasonable tolerance, do not constitute defects.

4.3 Pricing and Currency

  • All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT, unless otherwise stated.
  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time prior to order confirmation.

4.4 Errors and Omissions
If we discover an obvious pricing or description error after you place an order:

  • we are not obliged to supply the Goods at the incorrect price or description;
  • we will contact you to give you the option to reconfirm or cancel your order; and
  • if you cancel, we will refund any amounts already paid.

4.5 Payment

  • Payment must be made in full at the time of placing your order.
  • We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and EFT, via secure third-party payment processors (e.g. PayFast).
  • Your order will only be processed once payment has been successfully received and cleared.

5. Custom-Made and Made-to-Order Goods

5.1 Definition
Custom-made” or “made-to-order” Goods include, for example:

  • rugs or runners made to a specific size, shape, edging or finish;
  • Goods cut to length or customised from a roll;
  • items manufactured to your particular specification or design; and
  • any item marked as “custom”, “made to order”, “bespoke” or similar on the Website or in our communication with you.

5.2 Binding Orders
Once an order for custom-made or made-to-order Goods has been confirmed and production has commenced:

  • the order is binding; and
  • it cannot be cancelled or altered without our written consent, and any change may incur additional costs.

5.3 No Change-of-Mind Returns
Subject always to your rights under the CPA:

  • custom-made and made-to-order Goods are non-returnable and non-refundable if you change your mind, choose the wrong size, colour or specifications, or otherwise no longer want the item;
  • this is because such Goods are produced specifically for you and may not be resellable.

5.4 Defective or Non-Compliant Custom Goods
If a custom-made item is defective, not of acceptable quality, not as described, or not reasonably suitable for a purpose made known to us, we will, in accordance with the CPA:

  • repair the Goods; or
  • replace the Goods; or
  • refund you,

after a reasonable inspection and assessment of the issue.


6. Delivery

6.1 Delivery Areas
We currently only deliver within South Africa, unless otherwise specifically agreed.

6.2 Delivery Terms
Delivery terms, including:

  • delivery fees;
  • approximate lead times; and
  • courier partners,

are set out in our Delivery & Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6.3 Risk and Ownership

  • Ownership of the Goods passes to you once full payment has been received.
  • Risk in the Goods passes to you upon delivery to the delivery address you provided or upon collection by you or your nominated representative.

6.4 Delays
We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control (for example, courier delays, load-shedding interruptions, strikes, extreme weather). We will, however, use reasonable efforts to keep you informed of significant delays and to assist with resolving courier issues.


7. Returns, Refunds and Repairs

7.1 Standard Goods
For standard, non-custom Goods:

  • you may return most new, unused items within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions set out in our Returns & Repairs Policy;
  • items must be unused, unwashed, in their original condition and packaging, with proof of purchase.

7.2 Custom-Made Goods
As stated in section 5:

  • custom-made and made-to-order Goods are generally non-returnable and non-refundable for change-of-mind reasons;
  • CPA rights regarding defective or non-compliant Goods still apply.

7.3 Defective, Incorrect or Damaged Goods
If you receive Goods that are defective, incorrect, or damaged on delivery:

  • you must notify us within the timeframes and via the process set out in our Returns & Repairs Policy;
  • we will assess the issue and, where appropriate and in line with the CPA, arrange repair, replacement or refund.

8. Warranty

8.1 Statutory Warranty
Unless otherwise stated:

  • all Goods are sold as new and of good quality;
  • they are covered by a statutory six-month warranty against defects in terms of the CPA, starting from the date of delivery.

8.2 Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear;
  • damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, improper care or cleaning;
  • damage caused by pets, sharp objects, or dragging heavy furniture;
  • damage resulting from failure to follow our care instructions.

8.3 Manufacturer Warranties
Some Goods may carry an additional manufacturer’s warranty. The terms of such warranties are determined by the manufacturer and may apply in addition to your CPA rights.


9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Ownership
All content on the Website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, product photography and software, is the property of Woven Bliss or its content suppliers and is protected by South African and international copyright and intellectual property laws.

9.2 Limited Use
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, display, or use any content from the Website without our prior written permission, except for:

  • personal, non-commercial use; or
  • as otherwise permitted by law.

10. Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information.

  • Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information and your rights under POPIA.
  • By using the Website and placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 General Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Woven Bliss will not be liable for any:

  • indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage; or
  • loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill,

arising out of or in connection with your use of the Website, the purchase or use of the Goods, or these Terms.

11.2 Website Availability
We do not warrant that the Website will be:

  • uninterrupted;
  • secure; or
  • free from errors or viruses.

11.3 No Exclusion of Non-Waivable Rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to:

  • exclude or limit any rights you may have under the CPA or other applicable law; or
  • exclude or limit our liability for gross negligence, fraud, or intentional misconduct, where such exclusion or limitation is not lawful.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms, the Website, or the purchase of Goods shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, without prejudice to any rights you may have under consumer protection legislation.
